the bucks county show
The Bucks County Show 2010 took place on a dark and dismal 28th of August 2010 in a quagmire at Weedon Park. However, the mudbath did little to dampen local enthusiasm for a new event at the show - camel racing, a graceful spectacle which appeared to take place almost in slow-motion for those of us watching it for the first time..
Murray's Accounting once again sponsored the beef inter-breed competition. The result was almost a repeat of last year's show with Mortimers Aphrodite, a 2005-born Charolais cow from Mortimers Farm, Eastleigh, Hampshire taking the prize won last year by Mortimers Cameo from the same herd.
One of a herd of thirty breeding cows owned by Ken Piper, Mortimers Aphrodite had already taken inter-breed titles at the South of England, Surrey and New Forest as well as breed champion at the Great Yorkshire show.
You can find the Bucks County Show website at www.buckscountyshow.co.uk and a clip of the camel racing on YouTube.
